“I paint portraits about moments, hence my preference to work from snapshots and candid photos without alterations as opposed to painting from life or staged photoshoots. My focal points are the subjects and not the environment in which they exist and act. Instead, I place the subjects against a field of color, similar to pasting a form on a collage, to emphasize their singularity.”
